Reorganisation of the Product Denotation

VISION 2009

The just-released software version 5 of our SDK and runtime environment, removes the limitations between various framegrabber series and different types of feature programming.
A common programming base unites PCI framegrabbers of microEnable III series and PCIe framegrabbers of microEnable IV series by drivers and software. Also different kinds of hardware programming gets closer and offers a unified interface for acquisition applets (image acquisition and pre-processing functionality), SmartApplets (application-related image procssing pre-stages) and VisualApplets programming.
Runtime 5 supports numerous Windows, Linux and QNX versions under 32bit and 64bit.

New Product Line - Smart Applets

SmartApplets is a new hardware applet product line, which can be loaded on programmable Silicon Software frame grabbers. Many applications use image processing steps recurrently, to process an image binarisation or segmentation. SmartApplets follows the wish of many customers and offers pre-processings for Machine Vision applications, which run in real-time, on-board and with no load of the CPU. SmartApplets has only to be configured - a programming is not necessary.
SmartApplets is a continously growing collection of most important image processing steps. It is available in a Base and Extended version and covers ranges from high-quality image processing, segmentation and classification, over supporting measurement methods and compression, to the support of enhanced camera and sensor features.
The first release will contain several variations of an adaptive binarisation with noise reduction and an object segmentation for area and line scan cameras by Blob analysis.

Reorganisation of the Product Denotation

The growing number of frame grabber types requires a reorganisation of our products. The profile of the existing product lines were strengthened for project usage, new functions and products were added.
While the A-series is focused on a robust and comprehensive image acquisition functionality in a stable industrial use, the V-series additionally covers enhanced pre-processing functionality and is VisualApplets pre-licensed already. Furthermorey the Base version of SmartApplets is included in the delivery of V-series products.
With the new product lines, you will have access to image acquisition and programmable frame grabber types with a broad selection of PC interfaces, camera interfaces and support of operation systems. If the range of delivered acquistion und pre-processing functions is not sufficient for usage in your appliction, VisualAppelts will enhance the functionality by individual features.
